Oak in moderation

At home! But Caractère in Notting Hill is close second

Red wine and caviar, please never again!

Roquefort, Baragnaudes and Yquem!

Jancis Robinson

13. Wine ‘fad’ irritation?

Poncey OTT Champagne service, glass and bottle raised up in the air does nothing but annoy the hell out of me… Just pour!

14. Most delicious cheese?

4 week old Pelardon des Cevennes. Not one week less or more!

15. Inspiring novel?

No time to read novels sorry

16. Damascene wine moment?

Tasted on old rosé from Tavel. Who said Rosé can’t age?

17. Most beautiful vineyard in the world?

Klein Constantia, South Africa. Breathtaking views from the top of the hill. The air is clean and chilled from the ocean.

18. Ideal last sip?

Vintage champagne, probably Pol Roger, Winston Churchill but not fussy

Life is too short to drink bad wine
